We're so excited to see all of you tomorrow at the 2017 LGBTQ+ Equality Day at the Capitol! We want to make sure that everyone knows where they're going and is able to be safe and comfortable while attending the event, so here is some last-minute information. See you tomorrow!

Parking and Accessibility:
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, which is located at 203 Wisconsin Avenue, Madison, WI. The small church parking lot is available only for those who have limited mobility or accessibility concerns, with spaces designated by signs and orange cones. The entrance is on Dayton Street. Everyone else, please park in nearby parking structures. There is easy drop-off near the main door close to the worship sanctuary.
The closest parking ramp is the Dayton/Pinckney Ramp, located at 118 N Pinckney Street. For rates and more information visit
Information about additional city-owned parking ramps can be found here:
Street parking is available; however, all street spaces in the vicinity are metered, with most having limits of one to two hours.
Once inside, the church building, sanctuary, and fellowship hall are accessible to wheelchairs, with an elevator to classrooms on upper and lower levels. This event will take place entirely on the first floor, in Fellowship Hall.
To access the Capitol, there are three designated disability accessible spots on E. Washington Avenue at the base of the grand stairs.
Fragrance-Free Event:
For the health and safety of all participants, it is important that everyone come fragrance-free to this event. Many people in our community become ill when exposed to fragrances such as those contained in personal care and laundry products. Many of these products contain unlisted toxins, and while almost everyone may have some reaction to strong fragrances, some of us have much more immediate reactions even to "lighter" fragrances. Please refrain from wearing scented products to this event.
All Gender Bathrooms:
Sometimes because of how people look, they aren't allowed to use the restroom. We can do better! There are real impacts when bathrooms are labeled for women or men only. Trans and gender nonconforming people often face discrimination, harassment, arrest, or violence in bathrooms. Bathrooms at this event will be labeled as all gender. We ask that no one will be stared at, questioned, or asked to leave. We realize that sharing a bathroom could feel new and different -- we appreciate your understanding. - Served by NSV11OBWAPI1202
