A couple of weeks ago, the New York State Senate voted in favor of a bill that would prohibit the State from conducting business with any organization that has a pro-BDS provision in its charter--any entity that supports the ill-willed boycotts, divestments, and sanctions movement against Israel.

The New York State Assembly has yet to even schedule a vote on this bill, and it is unclear when they will. The fate of this piece of legislation lies in the hands of the Assembly, who should look to pass this bill as soon as possible.

Anti-Semitism is on the rise across the world. New York has the largest population of Jews outside of Israel. The Assembly should pass this bill to show that New York stands with Israel, especially as the EU and numerous foreign governments continue to turn their backs on the Jewish State.
