Trump’s massive $4.75 trillion budget proposal is an absolute disgrace. Ignoring Congress’ recent bipartisan rejection, he demands even more money for his pointless border wall. Ignoring budget cap agreements, he demands a massive, unjustified increase in defense spending including $165 billion for a nebulous war-fighting slush fund. Meanwhile, he is gutting programs that keep Americans safe, secure and healthy.

While this proposal is surely dead on arrival in Congress, we can’t ignore the dark and dystopic vision of America this budget represents. Trump has made clear what he wants to do, and many Republicans in Congress are ready and willing to help him do it. We must let them know, loud and clear, that we won’t stand for it.
