We told you we wouldn’t give up until all Californians know what they are being exposed to cleaning products. That’s why we are excited to announce the Cleaning Product Right to Know Act (SB 258)
has just been introduced in the California State Senate.
The bill requires cleaning product manufacturers who sell products in the state to fully disclose all ingredients, including fragrance, directly on the product label.
If the bill passes companies will no longer be able to keep ingredients that are linked to birth defects, cancer, fertility problems, allergens, and asthma a secret. And because California is a powerful market force, it will likely push these companies to disclose in other states too.
As a Californian, you can make the difference on whether this bill passes. Contact CA state legislators today!
With your help, we can give people the information they need to avoid toxic chemicals. After all, it’s our right to know.
