At Forward Wyoming, we believe every Wyomingite should have the opportunity to engage in the political process and effect change in their community, and our state. Whether that means voting on Election Day, attending a city council meeting, or attending a rally for a cause they believe in, we think we all benefit when more people are engaged in government. To bring about this kind of engagement, we put on a number of programs throughout the state.
Our Forward Wyoming Grassroots Institute is a free 10-week course designed to help Wyomingites learn more about effective grassroots activism. The program takes place in Laramie and has produced over 100 graduates, many of which are now working in public service or activism around the state and the country. Through this program, we're building a network of future activists that will become the tomorrow's leaders.
We also work to increase voter turnout with our Commit to Vote program. Throughout 2015 and 2016, we attended events and held canvasses around the Laramie community and asked Wyomingites to commit to vote in 2016. Those that committed received voting reminders with registration and polling information in the days leading up to the election, making voting an easier process.
In 2017 we hope to launch our own voter registration program, so that more Wyomingites can go to the polls on November 6, 2018 with peace of mind knowing they're ready to cast their ballot.
However, these programs cannot continue without contributions from engaged Wyomingites like you. As a nonprofit organization, we rely heavily on individual donations to operate. If you'd like to help us continue our mission of bringing more citizens into the political process, please consider making a contribution in any amount below.
All donations to Forward Wyoming are tax-deductible.
