All donations are welcome, and can be easily made using the form below. As we prepare for the most important election of our lifetimes, we strongly encourage you to consider joining our OCDP Sustainer Program to become an OCDP Monthly Sustainer. By becoming an OCDP Monthly Sustainer, you will play a critical role in OCDP's strategic plan to:
Expand the County-to-County Campaign. Since its inception, the County-to-County Campaign has forged groundbreaking county-level partnerships across the state to win back Democratic control of the North Carolina General Assembly, and to build sustainable Democratic infrastructure where need it most. In 2018, C2C played a crucial role in helping break the the Republican supermajorities in the NC House and NC Senate by building technical- and volunteer-capacity in 9 strategic counties. In 2020, we plan to double the program's scale-- we will not be able to do so, however, without sustained financial support from donors like you.
Strengthen precinct organization to build a more inclusive, community-centered party, and to significantly increase turnout for Democrats. Our precincts are home for everything we do as Democrats. It is through robust precinct-level organizing that we build a more diverse, inclusive, community-centered party, and it is how we achieve our 2020 strategic objective to turn out 10% more votes for Democrats over what we turned out in 2016. Orange County plays an especially strategic role in every single statewide race in North Carolina-- Governor, Superintendent of Public Schools, U.S. Senate, President, you name it-- and by properly engaging in our home communities, we can deliver the margins of victory for these offices. Sustaining donations allow us to invest in new organizing tools, and to get those tools into the hands of more people on a more consistent basis.
Invest in long-term community organizing. We as Democrats have recognized for some time that we must break out of "cycle-to-cycle thinking" to build the Democratic infrastructure we need for consistent victories at the ballot box, and for a more inclusive, representative Democratic Party. We know that community organizing can deliver powerful short-, medium- and long-term results that a 3-month "GOTV campaign" in advance of a major election cannot. The Orange County Democratic Party is well-positioned to be the first county party in the state to put institutional resources behind such an organizing model, and we know that such sustained organizing could deliver significant improvements in rural and campus engagement and turnout. Orange County can pioneer this model for the rest of the state.
OCDP Monthly Sustainers will receive special recognition at all OCDP events, among other benefits. Please direct any questions to Jonah Garson, First Vice Chair of the Orange County Democratic Party, at email@example.com or (919) 619-5467.
