This week the House voted to reinstate the net neutrality rules that President Obama put into place to protect American consumers and preserve an open internet for everyone.
Trump and his pro-industry Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have repealed those rules. At its heart, the net neutrality fight is about whether the internet will remain open to everyone, or whether a few companies will be allowed to serve as gatekeepers that selectively restrict access, block certain content, or charge some websites more than others. With our Save the Internet Act, we are saying that we must return to a level playing field.
Will you sign our petition in support of restoring net neutrality? The White House is threatening to veto this bill, and Mitch McConnell is saying he’ll bock it in the Senate — which would be a blow for consumers, rural communities, and small businesses across the country.
